Guidelines for Weekend School

Principles behind The Weekend School
1.  TV = Time Vacuum.
WE would rather spend time with other people or with a book or with learning than
watching TV
writing emails
playing a videogame
We would rather create by changing our brains.  We agree with James Zull and Daniel Amen.  When we learn new rules and new information, when we learn new words in another language, we send blood to our brains.  Andiamo aprender mais jetzt, tvaristshch.
2.  We can send Email messages from our phones.  We don't need to be tied to a computer.  Let's use the Jeremy Cowart message in the signature space of our email messages.  Let's also include John Vornle's warning that "your sending of an email does not assure that I have read it."

3.  We are makers and creators.
Yes, we can send email messages, tweets and text messages.  We can also use our phones to write messages to our future selves.  "I saw this today."  "I found this today."  "Someday I want to do this."  "I found out this about myself."  "This changes everything I thought I knew about the human body  and natural fruit sugar.  I need to use this information to change my diet."
When we find something true, we can send

4.   We can stand and stretch up every 20 minutes.   Thumbs pointed out (away from our bodies), take three deep breaths and smile.  We can arch our spine and return to our seats with a renewed posture.  We don't have to hunch over.

5. We move toward the things that we think about.  Let's think about good things.
Let's send messages that prompt each other to think and ponder.
Oprah uses quotes.  Let's send each other photos matched with a quote to guide each other's thinking.
Lateral thinking puzzles
Automatic negative thoughts (ANTs) and their ANTeaters (Daniel Amen's work)
New phrases in other languages (to gain new observations)
la nuit tombe    the night falls.   ("boom")
We can change our mood by changing the thought.  Each thought carries enzymes and hormones.

6. Zig Ziglar was right.  "We can get whatever we want in life if we help enough other people get what they want."  We are here to serve each other.

It's okay to mixup words when we are learning new phrases.  We can practicar ein bishen cuando wir sind falando.    (we can practice a little whe we are speaking).
Andiamo aprender mais jetzt, tvarishch  tovarishch.
Let's go and learn more now, friend

This is the blog post by Jeremy Cowart... it expanded my
understanding of "time vacuum" beyond TV and
endless video gaming to include emails.
Thank you, Jeremy.  We can use the "Jeremy annoucement"
to warn friends that we can be reached more quickly by phone
Just pick up a telephone and talk with me.

You can call this "the Weekend School" or just "Weekend School" or "My Weekend School" or "Your Weekend School."
